Farmers Market Volunteers
Can you volunteer to help the Arbutus Farmers Market succeed?
We are always looking for volunteers!
How would you like to help?
The Arbutus Farmers Market and some vendors rely on the volunteers to assist in tent set up, setting up displays, and breaking down the site at the end of the day. We also need volunteers to count patrons entering the market, assist shoppers, and other tasks.
Market Outreach-‐ Each Spring we distribute posters and flyers to local businesses, community centers, libraries and more. If you can help with this effort, we will provide you with tape, pins, and a stack of posters. Skills Required: Ability to get around a neighborhood and get the word out (car not necessarily required). Ability to speak about the farmers market to locations that will post our flyers. Website, Facebook, Twitter Marketing also needed. Commitment: Variable, and flexible.
Seasonal Employment-‐ Some vendors are looking for employees to help at their spaces. Please let us know if you would be interested connecting with farmers/vendors for paid positions. You would be required to work at the market every day it is open.
Cooking/Canning Demos: Assist the demo coordinator with any needs at the market on a cooking demo day, such as buying supplies, help chef with food prep, help pass out samples. Skills Needed: good interpersonal skills, some food knowledge is helpful.
Kids Events at the Market: Volunteers are needed to create special events such as Zucchini races, Pumpkin Decorating and other special events for kids. This is great fun for anyone who is creative and likes kids and farmers markets!
Office Projects: These may include occasional projects such as stuffing envelopes, preparing mailings, data entry projects and other projects that may come up.
